The Psychology of Friendship

August 1, 2017

Good friends show you their love in the small ways, consistently over time. ⠀

At the heart of every good friendship is the ability to be vulnerable, to show each other what lies beneath the surface of our every day self. A true friend will listen non- judgmentally to all the awkward insecurities we have and be there any way. And if you think about it, that's what we all desperately want and need: the person who will not balk or run when we tell them the things we're most ashamed of. Being seen in this way is the key to self-esteem, to security and self love.
